Actually Microsoft has announced on numerous occasions that the only games that are allowed to require a HDD are MMO's (Massively Multiplayer Online)... which don't exist for any console yet...

Actually they do exist. On the 360 there's Final Fantasy XI and Phantasy Star Universe. Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, Stargate Worlds, Huxley and a number of others are due next year too. But still, these are so little in comparison to the total number of games that it's no train smash.

Well yes... but so far they have all been terrible :D, maybe I am just not a fan...

AFAIK there is no game that has been published yet that requires a HDD...

Like bagels in NY :D

Like Kiddush in NYC for Passover. They sell well. Except the Xbox sucks, that's the difference. Oh well.... I realised that after buying one,
a huge power supply brick - omw, no next gen DVD drive and if you want one, it's a 3rd piece of junk - unlike the Ps3 which is all
in one box and finally no WiFi. Oh well.

I thought Kiddush was a blessing

Sure you're not thinking about those knishes . . . which I've now got a craving for. :o

Yes indeed, but unlike Telkom and Eskom, we as consumers should think ahead and not be blinded by contracts that tie you in for months...

There are lots of local Xbox Live players online :D

States R1999.... I wonder how many people are going to push and shuv each other and beat each other on Monday..... I'm sure they worked out a lovely deal with MS. to sell them off at that price.. But yet again the bastardos make to much money must be a xmas right off, if they've paid more :P

wait wait wait... does this mean that Telkom now condones gaming? i thought that gamers are the ones that ABUSE their pitiful excuse for DSL.

when was the last time i said "oh i LOVE telkom!" without being sarcastic?

ROFL!
First Telkom says DSL was NOT meant for gamimg now they selling consoles?? Secondly, this just shows that Telkom has to find other ways to make money cause they seem to be going downhill...
*EDIT*
BTW Telkom Must DIE! and we don't have XBL & Xbox360 servers in S.A (officail ones atleast :D)

A shame that there isn't an XBox 360 game involving the virtual destruction of Telkom, it would be a great way for Telkom's hostages to let off steam.

I'm still not sure what all this hype is about - BTGames is currently offering the same arcade package PLUS two games (DOA4 + PGR3) for R7 less.

The best option I've found is R2850 at House & Home which includes the standard games Telkom is offering + 2 other games (DOA & PGR), it only comes with 1 controller though, so i went to Incredible Connection & got another controller & Tiger Woods & WWE for R550, so thats R3 400 which gets you Telkoms offer + 4 actual games for R400 more

This is laughable. First Telkom say that ADSL isn't meant for bandwidth intensive usage such as gaming and then they come up with this ****. To rub salt in the wounds, (majority of) us gamers that play on Live are doing so with a crappy 384K connection, to me it's borderline passable for online play so yeah, this offer makes me sick.
