Hi

Does anyone have the number of a Telkom Techie that is open to "gifts" or another way for me to get my line activated? In Johannesburg, Fairland

I want my line! I logged a call on 23 March and have struggled to get it sorted as I moved into a new complex without any infrastructure for telephone lines.

I got that sorted, but now the next installation date is only 13 June(might have been 13 July cant remember). 3 Months without Internet is killing me!

I've tried escalating it but that didn't make a difference.
Tx

keep phoning
keep bugging
keep nice (you don't always speak to the same person)
but make sure they know you want it done.

Take a drive round your neighborhood and look for a techie working on a telephone pole or something. Give him your ref number and offer to buy him a bottle of brandy. Worked for me :D

Sorry don't see anything.

click my login, select PM & resend if you don't mind

PM was for me.

This is seriously the most painful experience ever. They came out on Tuesday and realized that there is no open connections on the box. So from the sms I received from Telkom, they'll be coming out on 30 June again probably to find some other problem just to delay it for another 4 weeks. I HATE TELKOM.

I did the same thing. Moved into my my place about 3 years ago, and the complex wasn't cabled for a phone line. After endless delays and excuses, I just approached a Telkom techie working on one of their street-side boxes in my area, gave him my reference number and offered to make it worth his while.

He came out, did the installation and everything worked 100% first time.

Not sure in what hell deserted areas you guys stay but here in Holy f-king Fairland, they all have one answer. Phone 10219. Maybe the increases this year was just to good. :-(
