Telkom temp worker retrenchments under fire

AHA! So that's why the service is terrible. Temps. We always knew it, but now there's proof.

Telkom really should just train them properly. Their customer service has been lacking horribly even WITH those 3k people...
 
How can you retrench temporary workers?!!?!?!?!

Plus, these guys don't work for Telkom, they work for Labour Brokers...

Retrenchment is obviously best for the company. If they don't retrench them, it'll hurt them more in the long run, which means it will hurt us more too. You can't force companies to keep employees. They must do what is best for the company, and what is best for the company, is always best for us. Even if that company happens to be Telkrap. I hate these god damn unions.

Since when does Telkom do what is best for us? We are talking about the company that is almost solely responsible for keeping South African broadband stuck in the dark ages.

While many of these workers have been acquired through labour brokers, many of them have also been working for Telkom for years but were never instated permanently, a practice many South African companies partake in.

So who will now take the place of these 3000 workers? Will it now take an hour and forty five minutes to get my phone calls answered instead of just forty five minutes?

Telkom does what is best for their bottom line (at least what they think is right for their bottom line) never what is best for us.
