just a warning to anyone else who is going to apply for ADSL.

I got mine on the 26th Jan - just got my bill, they change you for the 3GB for the entire month, so although I only used my DSL for 6 days I get charged for the full month!!!

Man I'm @#$$ed off!!! :mad:
 
No :( I think I only used 150MB. The telscum woman on the phone says if your going to apply for ADSL, do so in the beginning on the month. Whats the BEEPing point as they take 2 weeks to install it anyway!!! :mad:

I think I need to go home now before I end up klapping someone!

erm dude, thats how it works. You pay for your bandwidth a month in advance like anywhere else.

If you buy an account from x on the 26th of January, you PAY for that usage till the end of the month when the cap gets reset

I mean seriously, don't people do any kind of research when it comes to spending money on anything at all?
 
Your problems haven't started yet man, they still gonna give it to you in every orifice you have, and thats just the foreplay....
 
When I apply for ADSL it will NOT be through TELSCUM. :mad: :mad:

Still pinning my hopes on Neotel to rescue us.
 
I have no problem with paying for a month in advance, put to pay for the entire month when you've only used 6 days worth is a bit harsh. What happens if you got it on the last day of the month - you will never download 3GB in 1 day and will still be charged for the full month.

Well, downloading at full speed for a day you will get a bit more than 3gb done on a 384 line.

So it wouldn't be too hard =P
 
when working with telkom, use each department independantly. So if u are going to order DSL do it without ordering the internet account.
Once you have ur DSL installed it takes about 10 minutes with the helpful let clueless ISP consultant to activate an internet account for you.. dont buy both at the same time cause ur Account gets created before your line is even installed...
 
Well IS and Gamco would do the same ...so bend over :sick:
