From here.

:D

Hmm Telkom clearly does not understand how the internet works. I started realising this when a very unhelpful Telkom tech ...oops sorry, engineer, told me that home ADSL is meant to be used for browsing and e-mail only. Hence, they will not upgrade our line capacity as 384 kbps is fast enough. So firstly here is some contradiction in what Telkom believes the internet should be used for.

Secondly how does Telkom figure that 1 Gig of data will see the whole family "downloading movies, music files and educational programs, to surfing popular websites like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter." and then add to that some gaming. All this with 1 gig international access (the 10 gig local only goes so far).

Thirdly, all I can say is wow. Is Telkom really comparing the benefits of their "Simple" plan to 56k dial-up? Damn, have we not moved on in the world, how is 56k dial-up even still mentioned as an option! They should be comparing the benefits of at least a 10 mbps line to that of a 384 kbps line, not bloody 56k!

I really feel sorry for us, Telkom being our only hope for fixed line access, a sad sad thing.

Well nothing wrong with the statement, its a go at Neotel. Use to piss me off on Neotel that the device did not allow me to simultaneously do what my humble Telkom line can.

The target market is also for people who are still on dial-up (yeah, still some users out there)
