Telkom tops complaints list

Telkom has a lot of potential to gain and retain customers but their customer service is shot unfortunately.. This is mostly due to the fact that most of their staff have been retrenched, so the workload on staff has increased exponentially.

Thing is, if someone has a Telkom service they constantly complain about the prices to friends and anyone who is willing to listen - and when something goes wrong then it's simply fuel to add to the fire, and people vent.

For the premium one pays for any Telkom service in SA the customer service should be spectacular, but at the moment, for a great many people, it's probably worse than going for a root canal.

People are welcome to put compliments on Hellkom, Hellopeter or MyADSL, but that is a rare event unfortunately.

Telkom Service is pathetic, I called Telkom and they didnt even know what "Self-Install" for DSL was!!!!

Very interesting. They say in radio for every 1 person that calls in there are about 1000 who feel the same as the person that phones in his opinion...

Obviously it isn't a scientific approach to things, but logic does dictate that for every one person that makes himself heard there are plenty who support the opinion.

In short, I don't read 479 complaints. I read at least 479000 complaints and counting!

This representative has never materialized and consumers continue to wonder if Papi’s promise of a customer-centric approach was simply hot air.
Were his lips moving???

I reckon price should be a MAJOR part of the service Telkom provides (will actually be doing a service to the poorer people). Currently the monopolies pricing is indicative of the findings of this article.....they don't care an iota about the consumer!

The schools thing and sponsoring the NCF are now just blatantly obvious that they're just window-dressing like the article says to make their image look good. BUT... people, thankfully are beginning to wise up and look past Telkom's appearances and seeing this corporation for what it really is!

What is going to happen to Telkom is really their own fault!

So is Telkom only using ‘window dressing’ sponsorships to make them look consumer centric or are they truly interested in engaging with customers? Currently the latter seems most likely.

I think you'll find the former seems most likely?

Or am I losing the plot again...

For argument's sake, is there anybody who really thought that Telkom would be happy with second place?

LOL

Don't think they give a crap either way.

more telkom woes..........

telkom must've spent millions on marketing its internet services - seeing that they have the government-sanctioned monopoly, i had to apply for adsl through them.
weeks later i tried to get hold of them - no luck, they've perfected the perfect telephone message cul-de-sac!
months later - alas - a lost female from the old regime (her afrikaans is still ship-shape) answers, again elevates my problem and tells me there are no ports (whatever that might mean, i'm sure very few of them know what a port is, but it is the kind of techno-babble thrown at the layman to both impress and baffle - and silence - him/her). I don't stay in Springbok, I live in Johannesburg!!!
and now, ladies and gentlemen for the cherry!
i was told that my problem WILL RECEIVE ATTENTION WITHIN
THIS FINANCIAL YEAR

From my personal obervation , Telkom's service & efficiency has improved - better now than what it was 2 years ago.

There is always room for more improvements..............
