If I have an uncapped line at Telkom, why do I get cut off if I use too much, cause my understanding of uncapped is use as much data as you want, no limits

Your understanding of "uncapped" is not in alignment with that of ASA.

You are thinking of "unlimited", but not in the way that ASA define it either.

Because you are sharing a service with multiple users there is a Fair Usage Policy that supposed to prevent abuse on an uncapped account.

You should never be completely cut off. Throttled to within inches of an active line, sure. That's the Telkom way...

Uncapped is not uncapped. It's fair use.
I got throttled to 0.4Mb last time I reached the limit.

But you still had an active internet connection? Therefore fulfilling the uncapped criteria. The only condition for uncapped is you'll never be cut off. Therefore never capped.

Technically yes. And technically if you pay for a 4Mb line, they promise to 'try' give you that speed.
