Telkom vs MWEB 2mb uncapped

nzytc.jpg

So, if you saying Telkom does not throttle, why is this happening to my torrents?

Telkom 2meg uncapped is the best product right now:) also i think it's the best kept secret? I have been downloading and streaming with absolutely no issues and I pay less that MWEB 1 meg premium(my previous ISP)! Normally i spew hate on telkom but I must say the Telkom ISP is awesome:)

Anyways, I always complain about crappy services I get so I'm just giving credit where it's due. Hopefully the service remains as is:D

Bear in mind my line was connected on the 11th of May only :D

Im also moving from Mweb to Telkom.

Moved this month. Had no issues with Mweb, but the bundled Telkom service was just cheaper. Must say really happy so far with Telkom. Will see how it goes in a few months.

*BUMP*

Any fresh feedback on this? Thinking of downgrading my line to 2Mb with uncapped from Telkom from 4Mb line with MWEB uncapped. Doing between 150GB and 350GB per month

Strangely enough, at work we have been having problems with Telkom 2MB Business Uncapped. Downloading Kaspersky Anti Virus at 20KB/s is not anyone's idea of fun. After dealing with the 10210 clowns for over 2 hours, I gave up and loaded in an Afrihost account we had spare. 20 minutes later at full speed, done.

Then Telkom still had the audacity to phone back the next day to get their service rated. I took great pleasure ripping in to that

Thanks StevenC. I will take that as a no go then. Seeing as people are complaining about FUP etc at pretty much every ISP these days I will just stick with mweb. Touch wood I haven't had any issues...

Yep, unfortunately I would not recommend Telkom Internet for anyone at the moment, until they have fixed the issues.

I would most certainly suggest Telkom.
2 days of a couple hours of issues is hardly something I'd consider going to MWEB for.

I am already with MWEB but trying to save some costs. I do game so I need to be sure of lag issues etc.

Just give it a few days.
Telkom will resolve this minor hiccup and be back to it's normal consistent self.

Is this really true? I spoke to an MWeb employee and they said that the new telkom service (that they resell) gets throttled/shaped in the day quite heavily? o.O

P2P traffic gets shaped by telkom during the day but you can still get fairly decent speeds sometimes. After 11pm you get almost close to line speeds till about 8am.

I haven't been shaped or throttled on Telkom.
I don't use torrents.
I only use nzb but download when I want and as much as I want.

On my previous 2mb account I did a max of 325gb in a single month with no reduction in speed.
Now on 4mb but haven't used close to that amount so wouldn't know what the threshold is.

I use on average about 250-300gb a month.
