Telkom warns about scams

Bogus technicians arrive unannounced and claim that they need to check on PABX systems, voice or data connectivity.

Their legit techs arrive unanounced all the time. Since when do they call ahead or anything to gain access? They just pitch up and say they need to do work on the lines and you're expected to let them in.

In these instances when you haven't reported a fault, how are you supposed to know if they are legit or not by the reference number which you don't have?
