Telkom Internet 2 Gig Account

August - Not Capped at 7 Gigs
September - Capped at 7.5 Gigs

This month im gonna save a good gig below 7 gigs or so for the last day.Then im gonna klap a torrent and see if i get capped.Cause if i get capped at 7 gigs it must mean thats my average amount im allowed to hit,that would be great ;)
 
got ADSL 23 Sept.

Just checked my stats - 15GB in sept, didn't get capped.

I am on 512 with TelkomInternet.

hmmm yeah great, untill you get blacklisted for abuse. how u can you call 7gigs for that price great?

My point is its 7 gigs....not 2 :confused: And i aint a torrent maniac like most...IT DOES GET to a point where people download crap not because they want it ,rather just to download crap ;)
 
Ok i'm not going to be first to get capped :D I will only be at home on 07/10 then i will hit the lines ;)
 
Capped the 3rd of October on my one Telkom 3gb account. Got capped at 7gig. Now on the next one which should also be capped by tomorrow. I am a downloading whore.
 
Capped on the 9th on 9.3 Gb. Received this lovely email:

Reaching the threshold has resulted in your username being disabled from our network of services until the 1st of next month.

Your actions have resulted in your username being added to our list of high-end users and repeated behavior of this nature could result in an overall blacklisting of services from TelkomInternet.

Should this not be the case, you are most welcome to mail
[email protected] with your concerns.

Exactly why i'm no longer with telskum.
 
13GB - capped on first account 10 Oct on 384 line. I however dont get any emails from telkom about abuse because I simply didnt sign up for their email notifications.

Does anyone know if they are allowd to do this?
 
They're telkom. They can do anything - especially if you abuse them. ;)
 
What would be of interest, just some random info, the lowest amount of gigs you have been capped at, and the highest amount. If you werent capped, give the amount and (NOt Capped) in brackets.
E.g

Lowest Amount : 11.659GB
Highest Amount: 14.867GB (capped)
 
Lowest Amount : 4.2GB (capped)
Highest Amount : 18GB (not capped)

Can't remember exactly, but it was something like that, will edit this post and correct it when I the usage tracker works again.
 
Hmmm does this mean I'm capped?
My adsl still works, I link via my router.
But when i log onto telkom site to check usage, they say my username and pass is invalid~
So if I disocnnect now, I'll be capped right?

Well last usage was 10.3gigs (capped)
