How do Telkom cap you when you go over your limit. Do they pick random accounts? Some people seem to get 5GB off a 3GB package, while others get closer to 7GB? Is it just a matter of timing?

4Gigs on both my 2gig accounts.

That's the capping threshold for my exchange.

Seems no matter what if Telkom cap you on x amount of gigs which generally seems to be double what you paid for ie 2gig get capped @ 4gig and 3gig get capped @ 6gigs.

Got capped exactly at 15:00 with a forced IP change and managed 6.193GB on the DO3 package which seems fair, even though last month it was just under 14GB

Yeah it's the DO3 package, and telkom normally give you 6GB on the 3GB cap.

Not sure what happened last month as it never got capped and the only reason I stopped at just under 14GB is because I ran out of download links and disk space.

Yes it is a "3GB package", but the 2GB & 3GB Telkom Internet (the ISP) accounts give you a little more than what you pay for. 2GB = 4GB, 3GB = 6GB. Plus minus.

1GB is normally capped at 1GB.

Anti-competitive behaviour, but hey I don't think many of us are complaining...
