Telkom's assertions rebutted

"with individuals travelling to Gauteng from other provinces in order to air their views"

RPM is one such traveller and possibly other MyADSL members who presented. Is the Advertising revenue sufficiant to at least subsidise their costs? If not I feel that it is time for us to have another round of donations. The presentations were on bahalf of all the members, the least we can do is contribute to costs. RPM, Lets have the account details please.

The last word

The article says telkom will have another chance to speak? telkom really have a way with words and have a talent for making great excuses that even i sometimes start to question myself.

Im afraid if telkom have the last word with their great excuses, it will stick in the panel's mind. I sincerly hope there will be a couple speakers after telkoms final presentation to rip thier bull**** lies apart.

AFAIK they asked to be last. Clever pooheads that Telkom are! But they will have a hard time shaking the words said by those that exposed Telkom for what they really are...

I think they will be speaking to a very sceptical ICASA panel...

Cheers

ICASA offered to pay my expenses for travelling from Cape Town. However I asked ICASA if somebody else could read my presentation for me and they said that was OK.
It saved me the long haul to Pretoria. I probably would have got lost anyway.

BTTB - Yip - you wouldve gotten lost in the ratz maize - expecially since the long haul was to Sandton, not Pretoria. LOL.

I seriously seriously cannot wait for teklom's closing statement, it should raise one hell of a lot of newsworthy interest. Mebbe we'll get some decent tv time, you never know.

I'm pretty sure what Telkom is going to say:

These people who are complaining don't know anything about business, and even less about ADSL

Though they will cloak it in many paragraphs of words.

Hi CARoper

Thanks for the concern regarding financial matters. The site is currently still keeping head above water…advertising revenues generally cover the costs. There are obviously many ‘hidden’ costs when running a site, but some of the recurring costs like the Google Adwords run of my gf’s credit card, so no need to worry about that :D We are also considering brining in some additional advertising (all non-intrusive of course) to be able to launch one or two small advertising campaigns (like discussed in a few other threads).

The best thing that all members can do is to regularly visit the site and use the forum for discussions…this will ensure that we stay a strong community and that there is adequate information sharing. The subsequent advertising revenues should be adequate to cover most expenses.

BTW: I have recently relocated to JHB. The job is better than most, but I can confirm that CT (and Somerset West in specific), is the place to be!

Regards,

RPM

I'm concerned that by Telkom having the closing statements they can create a cloud to create doubt and overshadow the facts & figures provided over the last few days..... but will wait with some interest today. Are there any other parties speaking today or is it only Telkom's closing ?
