The ad also said that it was voted so by Telkom's biggest critics. Somehow, SA Computer Magazine does not qualify as Telkom's biggest critic.
 
Never seen so many ads in just about EVERY newspaper. Who's paying for all these ads (not even very clear in what they are putting across either)?

What's the alternatives? R400/gig for 3G? R500/gig for HSDPA? Sentech? iBurst?

What's cheesing me off is they're still comparing ADSL to wireless! ADSL is obviously more stable than wireless and will therefore have better ratings when comparing the 2 technologies. Why does the ad not state that it's the best ADSL offering in the country? Are they trying to save face?
 
Seems to be in response to Vodacoms advertising campaign ("faster than adsl")
What I can't understand is why they bother advertising. They don't have the man power to install the lines :/

Nope. Telkom don't win. It's just that they haven't lost.

PS. Looked at the ad. With Telkom it's not only the Cable Guy who gets jacked. It's all their customers too. :eek:

Seeing as there are no other DSL line service providers in SA to compare ADSL with it is bound to win this comparison. Comparing a line service with wireless is like doing a rough terrain comparison between a Rav 4 and a Tank! Who do you think is going to get through the brick wall the easiest?

We're probably the only country in the world where business ADSL is the same price as residential ADSL.

I think telkom is the best broadband service in SA. The other offerings, all wireless are frikken useless (for my needs).

I still hate telkom with all my heart though.

EDIT: So does my dog.

How come bestbroadband.co.za and thebestbroadband.co.za were both reg'd by DataPro and not Telkom?
 
Well nice to see that SACM compared the ADSL prices and ISP costs - seperately! No wonder it's the bloody cheapest. Telkom + ISP charges, it would have made them the 2nd most expensive...

I'm proud to say I haven't been a SACM reader for the last couple of years. They obviously don't have a clue anymore.
