It's remarkable how bad and sloppy Telkom Mobile's service is. After I placed an order through their web site I had to phone them to be told that the phone is not available to order online even though they allow it to be ordered online. They then apparently just ignore the order unless the customer contacts them.

So the phone must be ordered from one of their stores they say, but their customer service can't tell me which stores have stock. The stores that have listed telephone numbers don't answer them, while the store I went to didn't have stock and told me they are unable to check if other stores have stock. Does Telkom really expect potential customers to drive to every store in the city to check if any have stock of a phone?

Vote with your feet, Telkom laying off peolle letft right, and centre. Yet still expecting people to purchase thief products with decreased customer service...Only in Africa do people still tolerate a company that size giving such horrible customer service.

I had some problems getting started with Telkom Mobile, but once it's going it gets easier.

I think you should send out a generic email to all of their stores that are close to you e.g :

Hi, do you have stock of the following device....

Regards

You can get store details and email addresses via this link :http://www.telkom.co.za/coverage/#stores

I had an issue and decided to email the store directly. The supplied email address is normally the managers email address, so you will be more likely to receive better service.

Good luck.

I had Wi-Max from Telkom and Afrihost as my ISP and in 7 years I did not have to phone Telkom, because the WiMax haven't gone down once in that 7 years.
Then, last year, Telkom send me a letter saying that they are discontinuing the service and someone will contact me. Someone never did. :-) I phoned and stayed on the line for hours each time - nobody knew what WiMax was. All I wanted was for them to stop billing me for a service they have cancelled with me. I went to the Telkom shops, head office, e-mailed them with the letter attached and no-one could help me to stop the account and influx of invoices.

It finally got sorted after 6 months and I still needed to pay in some money. :-(
