Telkom's Super Team

Hi Adlo

I know that Nombulelo Moholi is the current Marketing Director (or whatever term)...she handled the recent media briefing. Never heard of the rest...

Hi Adlo

I read the article in the Star a few days ago, but this was most likely a publicity stunt. There has been a fair amount of negative press up o that point, so I guess Sizwe wanted to work on his public image. I can not say that the journalist was too critical…

Regards,

RPM

Instead, he will probably be able to spend more free time in the garden, which he enjoys because gardening is "about creating things that are completely different from what I do at Telkom on a day-to-day basis".

In a garden you grow stuff. So the opposite is ...

i'd like to see the superteam with a pick and shovel digging up the curb replacing my rotten local loop...
"Dig, Si$we, dig!"
"Esh, Ruben, i'm not used to hard work"...

How is creating a super team to tackle competition working on his public image. All that says is they are not confident that they can currently handle competition and need to rely on other methods. If only they knew lowering prices is more competitive then they would have received some praise by now. But instead we are paying with their high prices for super teams with super ridiculous salaries to think up crap and make statements that useful. Common sense is uncommon in the pumpkin head that is Telkom. But what can you expect from people with the mental capacity of 5 year olds?

What a bunch of amateurs!

Hmmm this actually worries me, a super team formed to combat competitors & stop competition...I don't think that's what the general public want to hear, not to mention the rest of Africa...shareholders must have been the intended audience for all this...I have to wonder how many of the super team members are lawyers - the objective being to crush potential competition :(...I don't think many of the retrenched workers got a multi-million Rand bonus...I wonder what the unions actually think...the garden thing is one of those warm & fuzzy psychological ploys that ends the article on an upbeat note - I wonder why it was not edited out before publication...the bit about administering the medicine to the patient in the proper way sounds like a prophylactic was involved.

Rather odd & does not put my mind at ease that SNOTata is going to be able to make much of a difference for Joe & Jane Soap (in particular all of us).

Can somebody compete with Teklom ?

Seriously, is it even possible?
I am seriously having my doubts.

I mean - they provide fantastic service, fantastic - just what the client wants - products, awesome local infrastructure, awesome international bandwidth, a fantastic mirroring service, a fabulous gaming service, are BEE happy, have at least 9bn to waste, have an exact understanding of how to deal with the governmint and lastly their ability to appear like a harmless sheep is un-matchable.

Okay - some points are touch and go, but they have a small support desk supporting 12 000 000 customers, easy peasy to make better if they have to.

This monster hasn't even shown it's teeth yet.
