Telkom's Tariff Adjustments !!!!!

Telkom just released this on SENS (Stock exchange news service):
"Telkom files tariff adjustment with ICASA"
"...The monthly subscription charges for DSL, Do Broadband and TelkomInternet remain
unchanged. TelkomInternet all access 2Gb and 3Gb standard offering bandwidth
customers will have their offerings upgraded to 3Gb and 5Gb respectively.
Telkom Closer 1 and 2 subscription charges will increase by 7.4% and 5.6%
respectively. Current tariffs will remain unchanged for the Telkom Closer 3, 4
and 5 calling plans.
From 1 September 2009, Telkom Closer 1 customers will receive free local and
long distance weekend calls of up to an hour during Callmore time.
Overall, data tariffs in the basket will decrease by 6%.
Telkom is confident that our proposed price changes will be approved by ICASA
having complied with regulatory prescriptions."

Thanks. Oh well. That sucks. At least they did not increase anything. But Telkom is a rotting dinosaur that will be dead in a few years. Died of "failure to adapt to prevailing market conditions".

If that's true then I was right - prices are still ridiculous.

  • When will they stop charging us twice for the same line?
  • When will they give us at least double-digit caps for the same amount of money?
  • When will we finally have affordable uncapped services?

Telkom can go **** themselves as far as I'm concerned.

Happy about the 5GB though - but no speed increases?? :(

Update: On re-reading it, I already get 4.5GB on a 3GB account, does it now mean I'll get 7.5GB or somewhere around there?

Probably only get 5GB.. ie: nothing has changed except some of their stuff getting a bit more expensive.. Telkom Closer increase in price etc.
 
I assume that this applies to all the service providers ?

If that's the case then 5 gig on Nightrider is going to be awesome.

lol 3gig to 5gig :eek: soooo this is the first step to keep current telkom subscribers from moving but now the competition has to give us even more than that to make us budge from that amazing cap increase :rolleyes:
