Yes, you are using Telkom hosted mail in 2019.
Because trying to fix the poor service from a sluggish parastatal is a better than using an industry leading free service like Gmail. 10/10This is a periodic problem with Telkom. I have not so far found anyone in Telkom that is able to or wants to help though. We just don't get through to technical experts anymore who are able to solve and address issues of this type.
As far as I know, there is no active Telkom rep on this forum anymore. It is a huge pity because it seems the only alternative is to resort to facebook or twitter, which I will NEVER do, or hellopeter, which I am not keen to do as well. It would be much more preferable if we could get Telkom to see the need for real technical support via an active and permanent representative on this forum. Or, better still, a way for their clients to get through to REAL technical support iso having to fight your way through a call centre with virtually no technical knowledge, who only have a list of "send the bitch the standard letter" type, scripts to follow, designed to get rid of the complaint without necessarily solving anything.

I wouldn't even send mail to a Telkom address, I'd tell someone straight get with the times and give me a different address that actually works.

So if you found yourself running a business, and you need to send out monthly accounts to 100 - odd clients, and 30 of those clients have @telkomsa.net addresses, what do you do? Post them? Hand deliver them? Simply not bill them? Lose them as clients because you don't agree with their choice of email provider?
We have numerous clients still using @telkomsa.net email addresses (mostly elderly people who are averse to change) and have constant problems with email being rejected.
Since November 2017 there has been an ongoing problem with emails being undelivered due to "hourly limits having been reached"
To date we still have no explanation what the limit rate or time scales are.
Eventually after months of nagging and following up, Justin from Telkom confirmed the issue lies with their DHAP service but is has to date still not been fixed....
Needless to say when we get irate clients contacting us we have no other option other than to recommend them moving their email to a provider that is capable and willing to resolve issues in a reasonably time.
(I hope that was articulated and worded correctly)
...as all those wet behind the ears newbies to the Internet will find out when they reach our age.
