A couple of weeks ago I took a couple of pics in Jhb, on the way there and back. I opened a flickr account and uploaded ten decent ones although I only think about four are actually pretty good.

I know pretty much nothing on photography and only read some tips and things about it yesterday so my knowledge of the field is increasing. I now know how ISO works :D Anyway just wanted you guys to check out the pics I took and get some feedback. This was taking with my moms Sony W55 point and shoot, some while moving in the car so the focus is a bit out. I also down sized the resoloution just to make uploading faster.

four trucks - nice colour

Maybe try rotating Mini windmills in the wind just a little so the poles are vertical? Should have some nice lines then.

and its sun not son :D

I saw some of your pics, very impressive.
I did edit the son/sun thing.... I only write English on Monday so its ok :D
How do I rotate it slightly? All the options I know are 90 degrees? And if I only rotate it slightly wont the whole picture just be skew?

I like the windmill - nice composition.

About the four trucks, dude, you've got to work on your following distance - 1001.....1002....1003..... ;)

I wasnt driving which should be obvious :D
And then factor in the zoom and things look closer than they are :D
 
I love the landscapes Just Ice. They're beautiful. We sometimes forget what a nice country we live in.

Thanks, I go to JHB fairly often and I also take for granted the bush that we drive past every time. A week before that trip, something just inspired me and the thought of photography seemed quite cool but I didnt know what to take pics of, even at first when I took those I wasnt really thinking that they are some nice pics, only when I put them on the PC, read about photography a bit and just fixed them up a bit that I realised we are in such a great country.

I never realised that seemingly boring shots can turn out so well.

What can I say... its home :o.... and I am english through and through, lol.
There is actually far more to the free state than that although it is mostly like that. There are some really nice places that could produce some great pics, Gariep Dam and Clarens... I wanna go there again...
 
I took a few more round the house although most of them didnt come out as I would have liked... in fact most didnt...

But the 3 I liked, which are all more or less of the same thing I put up.
Flickr is quiet cool I must say

I walked round the house and nothing really inspired me much...
But I will keep looking
 
Nice pictures...

After getting my lil baby today.. I will be populating my flickr account fairly shortly, already have a few photos that I like....
