Telscum Line Rental increases

Ok so I may not be a telecoms fundi but can someone please confirm for me

I have a 512line and telkom has just told me that line rental is R418 per month (analogue + DSL), I downgraded from 4meg 2 months ago so still getting use to the prices.

Now my bill for July is R475, after speaking to 3 idiots first at Telkom I found one that could at least speak English and told me that line rental will increase by 0.8% from August so they pro rata billing me already (is that not illegal as I am paying for July?)

R475 for 512 seems kinda expensive, maybe best just to transfer my line to Mweb as they are my ISP? Any advice appreciated.

they always charge 2 months in advance and anyway why did you downgrade to 512 its not worth the money you pay compared to 384k and 4 meg (512 has always been overcharged)

Uncapped 4meg is a lot more expensive than 512 uncapped.

yep, either go for 384k which will give u a dl speed of 40-41kB/sec (20% less than 512) for about 50% of the price of 512 or revert to 4Mb/sec
