Ten predictions for 2008

South Africans will be paying less for telecoms in 2008

Telkom (JSE:TKG) will surprise us all...the board will produce a sound plan for going forward

The launch of Telkom Media's IC Entertainment, as the service will be known, will surprise us all with quality information,

The services Neotel launch in the major metros will surprise consumers.

iBurst will continue to grow and will become the de facto replacement for broadband

Icasa (the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa) will continue to surprise with efficiency and clear regulation

Ok, this is obviously an early April fool's joke. Also, can someone please give this guy a thesaurus...

Wa-haaahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa @ the iburps prediction

My prediction is they will face a major lawsuit and have to change their way of operation. Or they will lose a LOT of customers.

@ the !Casa one - they will continue to bumble and make a fool of themselves, and they won't have the balls to face up against telkom.

Looks like we are in for a lot of surprises! Unfortunately, I am more skeptical and I think they will be surprises of the negative kind. :(

LOL! Exactly what I was thinking :D Makes me think of the Chinese curse; "May you live in interesting times."

i only realised it was all bullS#@T when it got to the iburst part, lmao

I think the last one is the best, "ICASA wil surprise us". Yes they wil, with more incompetence!

Telkom will make TelkomTV available, with a 3hours cap TV viewing each day , and a full 10 channels for R360 per month, oh and a Video on demand service which rents each video to your decoder, through download for onetime viewing only at R50 a movie.

They will also decrease the price of adsl by R10, and increase line rental by R20,

Prediction 11

... and young pixies wearing Telkom branded clothing will deliver peyote on small silver trays to make our afternoons truly productive.

iBurst will continue to grow and will become the de facto replacement for broadband.

So if you don't want broadband anymore you go with iBurst ;-)

Code:
The services Neotel launch in the major metros will surprise consumers. The installation process will be quick and easy, and service levels will be vastly different to those we're used to (the idea of a "call centre" will take on a whole new, positive meaning).

So much BS...

well now if we are making predictions that wont come true lets do it properly. my list of 10 for 2008.

1) telkom will slash prices and offer uncapped unshaped 4 mb lines for R20
2) education and healthcare budgets will be increased 100% in order to pay teachers and nurses a living wage
3) all the current politicians will retire by july and go live on an island in the tropics to be replaced by hard working public "servants"
4) the tax man will give everyone a R10000 refund
5) taxi drivers will start obeyingthe rules of the road
6) the crime problem will be solved when the navy builds an island off the coast of east london out of all the bs that has been coming out of parliament lately and sending all criminals to live on said island
