Teraco Outage

So fibre in JHB (North at least) has been down for most of the weekend so far. The fibre providers are saying it's a major issue at Teraco.

Anybody know more about this? @rpm?

It's mostly only MFN that is experiencing issues. Other FNOs that use MetroFibre for backhaul or portions of MetroFibre network will also be affected.

There isn't a general outage at Teraco that is affecting all ISPs or FNOs.

Yeah if there are issues at Teraco a lot of techies will be panicking at the moment.

If you say so. Neither my ISP or provider is metrofibre (maybe downstream somewhere...who knows). The techs said it is Teraco. Doesn’t matter much to me, I just want stable internets.

When will the metrofibre issue be solved then? ETA?

It's an ongoing major outage that Metro Fibre Engineers are working on. We don't have updates but once we get will will post them. Right now we just know it's a major outage affecting a large number of ISPs including us.
