Terminator Genisys

How come the critic reviews are overwhelmingly negative, but everyone that I know that has seen it (including myself) has enjoyed it?

EDIT: I've just watched the second trailer, I can't believe they spoilered that.

I'd rate it about 7.5 out of 10. Not a classic, but a worthy sequel. Much better than Jurassic World.

He's trying to act like his taste in movies is superior, and suggesting that anyone who enjoyed F&F or Terminator Genisys are wrong, just wrong..... and has a lower intelligence than him.


I haven't seen the new terminator yey but this article suggests Terminator Genisys is "The Best Terminator Movie Since T2".

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but if you don't like these movies or wish that no other terminator sequals/reboots are made ever again because you love T2 so much..... why even post here? just don't watch it and move on with your life.
 
I watched the movie this weekend. Its an entertaining movie, I enjoyed it. But its nothing that suggests it should get any amazing reviews, its just another action movie.

If you a fan of the series, go watch it, you will enjoy it. Don't expect it to be better then Terminator 1 or 2.

What he doesn't understand is that a critics job is to be critical. An audience job is to watch a movie, and will judge it purely based on its enjoyability. Seats filled in the cinema trumps everything at the end of the day

Those who enjoyed f&f or Terminator Genisys may actually be more intelligent as they judged it based on its genre and appeal rather than its artistic achievements. Critics sometimes don't have the freedom we have to enjoy a movie, and that needs to be recognised

Hamster posted above that he enjoyed it, so I don't think he is being condescending.

I do think that some critics struggle to "turn off" and just enjoy the movie. It's not the best movie ever. It's not going to win any Oscars. But, it is still good fun.

EDIT: I would have loved it if they could have got Robert Patrick back. That dude was very good as the T1000, it may sound silly but I actually think he was the best actor in T2.
 
Don't think I'll pay to watch it - I find that girly "come with me if you want to live" corny, annoying and irritating.

T2 was the best. I don't think any Terminator fan will disagree. But they're all fun to watch. Just some escapism joy.
 
T2 had more depth to it than the recent movies, and slightly less humour. I think its also more artful.

But, that is not to say that Terminator Genisys is a bad movie. Its a good movie, and I think it is a worthy 3rd movie in the franchise. It just isn't an instant classic, but that doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable.
 
Keen to see the latest one, T1+2 were my faves.

I actually owned the Atari Portfolio that John Conner used to hack the ATM in T2, sadly it didn't work IRL :D

Don't go snapping at him. I thought the same thing he did from your comment. So it was likely that it's because of how you said it.
 
Wasn't bad, although for me t3 was the best,

This one was a bit confusing,

So they go toward in time to stop john Connor who's a machine and the architectect of judgement day......

I just think they running out of ideas to make money.....

At least we finally saw what the tde looked like,

I thought it be a delorean:D
