But instead of keeping the things that worked and kicking out Appartheid the ANC wants to reinvent the wheel :rolleyes: They spend billions on building Stadiums, providing temp workers with a salary for 4 years and so forth. But what happens when the 2010 WC is gone? Unemployment goes up again, crime will increase and so forth.

They could have spent that money on better things. But let's not stop there, instead of driving a Toyota Yaris to work, lets all drive R 1.2 mil cars, but not 1 we need 2 each. Fk the people who live in shacks. Let me look after my own well being first. Do you have any idea what the money wasted on the WC could have provided for the poor of this country?

You gotta be joking right? Army Patrols, best police force in the world!?! Those two things you speak so highly off were devastating tools of oppresion, nothing more!

This wonderful society that you seem to hold in such high esteem was a dark period in our history which really most people do not have such great memories off. The so-called progress at the expense of the liberty of millions is by no means something to be lauded, in fact it is to be condemed.

Did all of SA benefit from these aspects of the "good ol" working South Africa? Or was it a privilage of the few?

I think what we have here is a case of two sections of the population that have different perspectives of the past.

One was the favoured and unjustly "protected", and the other was one that bore the brunt of a brutal system.

So you guys can carry on thinking things were all honky dorey back then, however its extremly sad to see.
