Terrible Service

I find the opposite to be true. If you with the right ISP they will sort it out for you as quick as possible....

Never had more than 2 days downtime since logging an online fault. Yes openserve tends to rock up unexpected.
 
Some areas really suck. Some of the technicians they've sent to my property was shocking.....

Not too bad here. The last visit was two guys. One probably on the verge of retirement and another young guy who did the dirty work. But about an hour later my modem was synching again :)

I've had one lady about 5 years ago that was really good and went out of her way, but Telkom moved her to another area. Then there was just a bunch of young guys who had no idea what they were doing. The second last time I had an extremely rude and racist guy, couldn't wait till he left my property.... I really wish that lady was still around.
 
Get some prepaid 3G/LTE/Rain in the interim until issue is reolved.
Putting your son's future in Telkoms hands is highly irresponsible.

Thanks for the advise, appreciate it. We have a prepaid 3G bundle he uses when the internet is down - as this has happened in the past with Telkom. So we do have provisions in place and will never gamble with our son's future; this is just not a sustainable solution.

Start looking at Rain and Fibre.

Telkom ADSL is beyond repair. Don't waste your time with them.
