Terry Pratchett has died

Wow. Pratchet always said that he'd prefer to go out on his own terms, after a nice meal with his family and friends, sipping a barbituate laced brandy in his garden while listening to Spem in Alium by Thomas Talis.
I just listened to that piece for the first time. Wow - now that is going out in style.

Nope. I was serious.

The inability to read is a tragedy. Are you dyslexic perhaps?

But there is not need to let your disability keep you from the wonderful world of Discworld - his books are available in audio format.

This tells us more about you than it does about him.

Tried a Pratchett book in my teens and gave up after a few chapters. Then a few years ago a pal who was a Pratchett fan urged me to try again. I gave up after the first chapter.

I know everyone else raves about his books but somehow I just don't quite get them.

Perhaps I should try moving past a few chapters but there are a ton of authors whom I do enjoy so rather not.

His books usually don't have chapters

lol, yeah. Maybe he read something else, or he didn't bother at all and just wanted to be contrarian.

I never read any of his books or writings. but I would guess he was an excellent author/scriber as per my friend. she has every single book he has ever published and I can testify to that as I bought most of them. she is his number one fan so don't any of you try claim that one lol.

a couple of years ago I watched his documentary on that suicide by choice. he was thinking about this as he had just been diagnosed with alzheimers. as I was watching it I couldn't help think to myself, don't even go there mr Pratchett, this is just undignified and you just don't belong in this category. thank goodness he didn't do this.

but R.I.P. another good author gone too soon.

Well take Albereth's advice and go the AudioBook route.

I agree. I’ve read a few. Meh. Overrated. Still, RIP.

That's just personal preference and is quite normal.

Just finished rereading Mort because of the occasion. The man had a seriously good way with words to get his humour across.

As a side note, some of his books are excessively expensive for Kindle...
