Tesla update helps cars avoid pothole damage

A new Tesla software update allows its electric vehicles (EV) to scan for road defects such as potholes, according to an Electrek report.

The EV can then use the data to enable adaptive suspension in supported vehicles to prevent damage and provide a more comfortable ride.

Wonder how good the adaptive suspension is for our potholes...

Next step would be for cars that already identified potholes to relay this information to the rest of the fleet.

This is old tech, I think I saw it at BMW in 2012, it scans every defect in the road, even speed jumps and adjust the suspension accordingly
Rolls Royce might have it already as it can change the suspension for roads that are uneven or sloped
