Tesla vs Adidas logo fight

Adidas has filed a challenge to stop Tesla from registering its Model 3 logo, which uses three white lines.

Adidas said it will be damaged by the registration of the Model 3 logo.

That's hilarious. Damaged? I'd love to be associated with Tesla.

That's a bit over the top - no law says another company may not use 3 lines as a main logo design, especially when it looks this dissimilar.

But hey, I guess it's the norm to take anything to court these days.

Completely different fields, it's not like people will go to buy Adidas shoes and buy a Tesla car by mistake, lunacy.

Guys walks into Tesla dealership:

"Hi. I'd like to buy a pair of running shoes please."
"I'm sorry sir, this is a car dealership."
"Oh apologies, your logos are so similar."

^^This will NEVER happen so I don't know what the issue is!

The troll is strong with Adidas.

Kudos to their marketing team tho :) Very clever indeed.

Honey are we going for a jog this evening with your new running shoes you bought at the mall?

em... No princess. We going for a drive in my new R1M car.

*cue laugh track

It has totally different proportions and Adidas has a hard edge where Tesla is a soft curve, totally different IMO.

Adidas wasnt the first thing that popped in my mind when i first saw it, hamburger menu did.

Strange how this hit the news after Tesla had already announced that it will be using "3" not the =

Seems like Adidas it trying to do some after the change marketing.

So many people iss the point.

You're legally required to protect your trademark. Even in stupid cases. If you don't, you could lose it. It would set a precedent that someone could point to and say "but you didn't sue guys other there when they had a trademark similar to you".

Adidas logos includes the word adidas and is rarely just 3 lines nevermind the rounded lower edges on tesla. If they can actually build a case then there is no decency ****en left in this world. They can just as well sue skrillex, monster, and the roman number system.
