I know it is Italy, but what is the reason for the Italy ,Bok test match having a half full stadium at Kings Park?

:crying:

R450 a ticket to see our guys play what is considered a low side. My opinion why but I was there too cheering the boys on.

Surely the Okes in charge realize that if they drop the price by 50% , they would have full stadiums better atmosphere, I thought the empty seats were due to all the okies that emigrated....

R400 for an entire afternoon and two international games actually seems reasonable.

I would also think so. The best way to gauge the attendance though, would be to compare it to the Nelspruit and Pretoria attendances. Durban had cheaper tickets than Nelspruit, and I don't see Pretoria tickets on Computicket yet.Wikipedia puts the attendance at 23 663, less than half of Kings Park's capacity.

Later in the year, I believe there is a test at Newlands, what is the seating capacity Newlands vs Cape TOwn Stadium?

We'll show them how it is done when the Argies get here and it is the only test we have for the next 2 years! One thing about the guys in the big centers they are spoiled for choice. With a test every year and sometimes 2 - I have been to every Bloem test in the last couple of years and to me it is still special, yes I have watched 2 at Durban and was at Soccer City last year but a test is still special for me!

Was at the Lions game as well here in Bloem when we came close to trapping them

There's been a lot of talk about that match being moved to Soccer City. It is meant to be part of a double header with Bafana vs Nigeria. So far Mbalula says that it is confirmed, and the SABC has run the story.

I tend to agree with the sentiment that it isn't too expensive for a double header - but let's be honest, that wasn't exactly the kind of double header that could command a match fee for two games. And with winter people need a better reason to get out the house than just a double header. Who sets the prices? SARU or the stadium?

Well I'm a Durban boy and I was quite disappointed by the attendance (although unfortunately I could not attend either). There are a number of reason I think for this dissappointing crowd:

1. As far as I could tell there were no staggered pricing for the different areas of the stadium. It was R450 for all seating and I don't know about you but I'm not paying R450 to sit behind the posts.

2. Although this was a double header there were mainly very lowly ranked teams there, if say the other match had a country from the top 6/7 then you might of seen a bigger crowd.

3. I just don't think the Test match experience is as good as its used to be. In the past their used to be fly pasts from airliners, entertainment before, during and after the match etc. It just seemed like there was more of a vibe. I don't know who would be in charge of this (SARU or Sharks) but I have a theory that this is why the attendance at the Sharks games is so poor.

Maybe we have been spoilt with way too much rugger....

I actually prefer watching on my telly , with snacks and warm coffee, sometimes if the weather is good, braai and beer, buy I guess living in a small dorp, I don't have much choice, which in turn makes the two games a year that I go and watch in the city, well worth the experience, appreciate it more.... Way more, but if I lived in the city, going to the stadium would lose its appeal...

Good observations. One of the issues I face is SHE does not really appreciate the game so if I go, it is with my cuzzy. And he has to get permission. And that is something of value in itself so we will always make a real deal of it.

I like watching on TV. I do not like the guy behind me getting drunk and yelling silly things in my ear. Neither do I like not being able to watch the action from up close the whole time.

The fact that the tickets go for R400 minimum is crazy. I am sorry but FU.
