Saw an ad on tv saying that you can get a sim card and loaded with airtime to test the cell c network.
So I went to the Cell C shop and told the lady I want to test the network like they have been advertising on tv and she tells me the test sims are R5. Okay no problem there will probably be R5 airtime.
Get home later and pull out my Vodacom contract sim from my tablet. Checked the balance on the sim and theres nothing.
Then I phoned the customer support and they tell me they cant help me and I must take it back. What a waste of my time.
Great false advertising from Cell C

Loaded some airtime and tried browsing. Pages load slower than Vodacom and then after 10 minutes no internet even with full signal strength.

The person that helped you in store failed. The test sims are free and needs to be rica'd in store.

That said even if you got the right test sim you were going to be disappointed anyways with a measly R15 to test their network. Not really something spectacular and not really worth it I think.

I think the person in store just sold you a normal Cellc prepaid simcards that they have on the shelf....

Maybe you should try and force it to Vodacom 3G roaming to see if it is enabled in your area. That is one nice thing about Cellc. You can in some locations like mine choose either Cellc or Vodacom and although Cellc would advise against I force it to Vodacom anyways because they don't seem to want to sort network congestion out.
