Kaspersky 2010 picked up the Win32.Sality.aa virus in the Microsfot redistributable.

ok - cool - i'll remove the microsoft VC Redistributable EXEs from the Zipfile, and post links where you can get them from the Microsoft site. (if you actually need them)

thanx!

Ok here is the Zip for ONLY the Media Centre program > http://www.quickshare.co.za/files/awh0r0lr/MediaFox.rar.html

And here are the links for the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (You might have this installed on your system already though.)

You guys may need this:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en

DirectX 9c, not normally installed on Windows 7 by default

DirectX doesn't come pre-installed on Windows 7? :wtf:

@ Super 78 - mind installing DirectX from a CD or something, and try to launch again?

Maybe try setting compatibility for XP and see if that works, then we can identify the problem? (Right click the EXE, properties, compatibility, and set to WinXP)

for those that get it running - does it download covers/etc? are you able to browse, play, etc ?

It runs fine on my xp sp3 machine excpet for the res problem mentioned above
Other than that it looks real cool, sleek.

A couple of things
Does it support series?
Does it use nfo files to aid scraping?

Ashfaak
- for now codecs are the end users problem, i'm just working on the program for now. in the end I will make a Setup file.
- Resolution is set at 720p at the moment - will add more at a later stage
- Yep, you are right - still need to make it refresh after a cover is downloaded! =)

Madman:
- Great idea about the nfo file scraping, if it is an unknown movie - for now it finds everything all by itself.

I just need to get the movie browser and player working for now, but

I will add support & buttons for the following soon:
- Movies (Done)
- Blu-ray
- IMAX
- Series
- Music
- Games (Only ISO Browser, not installed games - it can mount the ISO for you automatically)
- Photos (Slideshow)
- Weather
- TV - Input (If you have a TV tuner)
- Radio (Internet based, plays inside software with equalizer, etc + loads of built in station presets)
- Books (With built-in PDF Reader, but the PDF is overlayed on an actual book background)
- Emulators (MAME, Genesis, SNES, etc - launches automatically in fullscreen)

Other features:
- It will have skin Support
- I must still add interface sounds
- Internal video Player controls (Plus a few extra's like a "speed setting bar")
- Subtitle support
- Options to select & change the movie cover you want, inside the movie info page
- Options to delete a movie inside the Program
- Remote control support
- Search (You can search for "Bruce Willis" and it will find and display all those movies)
- Catagories - you click "Action" and it shows all those movies, comedy, drama, etc
- Advanced search - search for all 2010 comedies with a rating of 6.5 or higher

The more people support this, the more I will work on it :)

It is widely known that DirectX 9 DLL's are not installed by default on Windows 7. DirectX 10/11 is the default on Windows 7. Google is your friend.

The thing bout the nfo file scraping is that I don't have to worry about the naming convention too much. I can keep the name of the file or change it as I want.

One other thing I noticed, it stores all the elements of the scraping in the source folder. While this to me is better than the big messy folder that yamj uses, it makes the source folder itself busy, especially when you are using a mede8er or similar device too. Would it be possible to store the elements in a sub folder? Or even better a zip file?

Yes - you are right about that.

I intend to set those files to "Hidden" when they are created, so you don't see them in explorer - The Thumb.jpg is created to make a folder icon for windows, if you happen to look around in Windows Explorer.
I intend to remove some of those files as well (Angled Cover & Reflection) and process them only when needed.

Flipping good point about the nfo scraping - I will definitely add that soon then! (I hate renaming those folders too - takes me a good 5 minutes for around 100 items)

I will think about which method is better for the Elements (Covers & Info, etc) though - a subfolder sounds like the best way.
(I did it this way that if you rename folders, move them, etc in Explorer, that they will load again easily - no "re-linking" and stuff like that needed.)

Anyway - I did a LOT of work on MediaFox this weekend !! ;)

New Features:
* Complete Video Controls - Play, stop, Pause, Mute, Volume, Trackbar
* Speed Control! you can play it at ANY speed you like from 0.1x to 2.0x the speed - uses a slider like the volume  - there are also 2 buttons for "frame-by-frame" view, forward & back.
* Auto playlist - Got 2 movie parts in 1 folder? it starts the 2nd video when the 1st one ends automatically!
* Zoom Video coded - just need to make buttons :p
* Video Stretch controls coming soon - inch it to the left, scale it a bit taller to remove black bars? No more weird shortcuts - easy to use *on screen* controls!

*New Icons at the top - Movies, Imax, Bluray, Series, Games, Music, Photo's, Emulators, Radio, Weather and Books!

I just need to tie everything up, and then I will re-upload! ;)

I wanna change the name too - to something really cool....
So If any of you can think of a cool name, please post it - I think something with the name "media" in it is a must - like mediatank, mediamonkey, mediawave, etc ?

PS: thanx Madman88 for the stuff, i'll add your name to the credits!

Download MediaFox Version 1.07
(packed with all of the features listed in above post)

It does not add/browse/download info for all the Media Types (Like books, music, etc) YET - I will add support for that very soon.

The Video Player is what you guys must test next - I built the "Video speed" Control but it doesn't work on my PC anymore, So i wanna know if it works for you guys so I can figure out what I did to my *system* - because I haven't touched the code since it worked?
