Testosterone levels (low? treatment?)

BMI is a fairly useless measurement tool
Use a waist to height or waist to hop ratio

Diet, stress, fitness levels, time of day, there are so many factors that affect testosterone levels.
Your SHBG is on the lower side, which means your free test is probably not great overall.
SSRI generally reduce testosterone.

Did you get FSH levels tested? E2?

What symptoms are you experiencing? Low T symptoms are not always specific and can also be symptoms for many other items as well.

Any drawback versus getting testosterone prop from a guy at gym versus the stuff a doctor gets you?

I assume doctor will be more expensive?

Ive been on and used non pharma test for a while. Blood test results are bang on what you would expect.
Pricing is significantly cheaper.

You cant ever guarantee quality, even with the same brand. But there are well known brands that are easy to get, been around for ages and work.

I use test e for TRT, between 150 and 200 per week, injected subq every 2nd or 3rd day depending

That what I've been thinking, test prop 150mg per week ( split twice per week)

I don't see how that can have any negative effects?

I'd do into quad though, ass always feels risky given the nerves?

I never liked test prop for TRT or for cycles. The release is too fast and estrogen increased noticeably for me.
This is anecdotal and it might be totally different for you, but I do know a ton of people using Test C/E for cruising and they all seem happy on that. I guess the benefit of prop is that it clears fast if you have any issues.

The labs use different oils in their test, you might find a good name lab that for some reason the oil just doesnt react well with you. But generally its all good.

150 per week is a good starting dose. For each person this will react differently and you would need to get bloods once you are saturated to see whats going on and adjust the dosage accordingly. I know some guys who sit around 700 on 150mg and others who sit on 500. The temptation to go just a little higher is always there, but if this is long term, then it should be replacement range.
Markers arent everything, you also find the lowest dose where you feel good enough. It takes some juggling but I am far better for it now that I have it right. Most people think Test injections are for muscle growth, but it really has such a positive impact on my mental state and mood.

I hate the quad for pinning, its a higher risk site for me and not worth it unless i absolutely have to.

Best injection sites for IM are ventro glute and delts. I really like the delts but scar tissue becomes a problem and you can only do 1ml per injection (not a problem on TRT but advanced cycles 1ml isnt enough)

Subq you can do stomach, love handles, ventro glute etc and you use insulin pins so its pretty damn easy.

Ce, cypionate?

Ce, cypionate?
Cypionate or Enanthate
I use enanthate, but only really because the labs produce them in 300mg per ml bottles. So its half a ml a week which is convenient and its cheaper

You within range I wouldn't worry about it much.

Cut out soya products and do some exercise. Eat some cabbage and broccoli.

Do you have any gynocomastia ? Also what chronic meds you take if any ?

Do not go for depot tes unless advised to do so by an endocrinologist (perhaps make an appointment)... that comes with a whole set of problems. I personally dont see any reason to do so and I think you shouldn't worry about it.

Why did you go for the test ? What made you feel like you had to test your testosterone levels? And what you trying to achieve by boosting it ?

This thread is now about ‘roids

This thread is about low testosterone. One of the treatment methods is introducing exogenous test to the body, I am not sure why you are surprised that testosterone injections / TRT is being discussed here.

In saying that I am not recommending this to the OP, there are a lot of things to do and decide before going that route, and it is a long game plan that comes with some health risks which need to be managed. It would be unusual for a 20 something to need TRT.

Created a throwaway account for this due to the personal nature.

I recently got my T levels tested because I read some articles about symptoms of low T and thought they might apply to me.

I'm in my late 20's - The levels came back as follows

Free T Calculated: 310
Total T: 10.1
SHBG: 12

The doctor who I asked for the tests said these results were normal but I feel they're quite low for someone just under 30. Do any of you have experience with testing T. What were your results? Did you get treatment?

I know I could probably make lifestyle changes to up it a bit but I'm not sure that would get me into a respectable range?

I requested a testosterone levels test when I was in my late 20s. My doctor (a woman) point blank asked me "does everything work downstairs? If yes, then you don't need one." At the time I was doing a fair amount of weight lifting and while I got stronger I was still fairly lean and disappointed with my gains. I wanted to be much bigger. After that I accepted that I was normal and carried on with my life.

I think this is a blanketed approach and certainly not a proper way to diagnose. You can still have erections with low testosterone. You can also not have erections with tons of testosterone if your estrogen is very high or out of whack.

Bloods and proper diagnosis will give an answer on the markers, and then decisions should be made on the way forward.
There is also being in range and being optimal. The production fluctuates, changes on diet, sleep, stress, TRT pretty much eliminates that and guarantees stable levels, which is rad. Again, there are downsides and this is really not something anyone who is young should be gunning for

I definitely have a bad BMI because of too much fat instead of muscle.

Diet, stress and fitness levels aren't great. Test was taken before 10am when levels are meant to be the highest.

I didn't get FSH or E2 tested.

What made me want to test was the fact that I think I have more fat than I should have, I'm probably more tired than I need to be and don't have the motivation I think I should have. Sexually things work but I suppose I could be ready to go more often.

The above symptoms are all symptoms of being overweight and unhealthy too so that's what I'll concentrate on first. I'll see how I feel in 6 months if I've given it a proper go and maybe test again too.

I thought it may be worth while to get some opinions here too because I read (I know it's dangerous to read things on the internet) that doctors often say lower levels are fine when they're not and I only have the datapoint of one doctor.

If you don't mind me asking, do you take it because of low levels or for better gym performance? I'm assuming you're much older than 30ish based on your comments?

Maybe some gynocomastia but I'm not sure if that's just my weight being too much.

I'll definitely focus on losing weight before doing anything drastic because the symptoms are similar as for a sedentary lifestyle but basically I'm feeling older than I think I should. Less energy/drive.

Did you notice any difference between being in range and optimal? (If you've experienced both).

This is a good start. Trim down a bit, try be a bit healthier, get a regular sleep pattern and you will likely see a difference.

Both. My hormones were trashed from years of substance abuse. Everything was a mess and I decided I wanted to get into better shape. I ran TRT for a while, ,then "sports TRT" which is pushing yourself to just out of upper range of normal. I have done a few cycles of higher dosages and oral AAS for gym.
I am currently 40, started TRT around 37

Maybe some gynocomastia but I'm not sure if that's just my weight being too much.

Gyno is hard, press and you should know. If there is too much fat to know, then you do need to lose weight.
Dont discount stress as well with regards to energy and drive, its a real killer

For me there is a big difference from when you are low and when you get into a range your body is comfortable with. When increasing that to the higher end, it is much less noticeable but still there.
Once you start going above those ranges, the side effects occur and diminished returns happens fairly quickly.
For me the difference between normal and sports dosage was more around performance, you dont get any more mental benefit or well being and it becomes a PED and general benefits and drawbacks occur as expected

Whats your BMI and body fat % ?

Recenly got put on injections, 1 x .50 per week, my Test was around 200, very low.
My libido is and always has been extremely high but my physician warned what low test can do, it completely fks with you.
If you have low test, get oit sorted out.

I don't know - drop those levels and you can carol with the Spice Girls

Should have gone to a better doctor.

That was only her reply because she had no idea how to really help you if it came back low. And didn't want to go into TRT which she probably thought was the only option
