Text/sms app for iPad

Hi Guys,

Can anyone help ?
I have been looking for an app that I can use to send text orms messages. I have tried a few that I downloaded from the App Store but they never seem to work. Free texting and phone calls are only limited to the U.S. and Canada.

Does anyone know if any of these apps actually work in South Africa ?

The ME used in iPads probably supports AT commands but Apple's support for this in their developer environment is zero, hence no USSD or SMS apps. At least, none that I know of that work universally.

Are you looking for an app that sits in the cloud or one that uses your internal sim card in the iPad?

Do you need to receive responses or only send texts?

If you have an iPhone, you could use Messsages. On iOS8 I believe you can use Messages on your iPad to send texts via your iPhone's sim.

If you own an iPhone, it sends the message via it.
