Textbook on your iPhone

US and Canadian college students can pack textbooks into their pockets instead of spine-bending backpacks courtesy of an iPhone application released by CourseSmart.

I dunno how useful this really is. I've done courses where the course notes(no textbook for course) is given electronically(pdf /hml /ppt) and printed and I've ALWAYS gone back to the hard copy or printing out the extra/missed ones too. I dunno.. it just seems better to work from? I think for this to work it has to have a decent viewer/ebook and the iphone isn't it.

And then there will always be people like me who prefer paper wrt some course stuff(maths in particular) and the whole piracy thing is going to be a new market for extra money for students
