Texting while driving, this has to stop

If your car can pass the roadworthy inspection, you're fine.

Where it gets murky is this : SABS approval for any and all parts fitted to your car. That cheapie replacement bulb you bought for your brakelight? no SABS approval, you're in trouble.
It's how the KZN cops went on their spree impounding 'modified' cars (read chrome mags and dropped suspensions)

Software piracy doesn't have you behind the wheel of a one and quarter ton vehicle able to inflict massive death and destruction due to a moments distraction

No, but supporting piracy does give the poor sot standing at the intersection, selling his copy of "Braveheart", a reason to be there and he could be knocked down by a car, or could run infront of a car that swerves to miss him and then hit another car head on killing them??

Now you're just extending this into absurdity

How do you figure that?

EDIT: You want to be a backseat driver, then by all means, get out and walk. I won't tell you how to drive unless you continuously jump red traffic lights ;)

Do you know what "ecotistic" means?

Woah. I see I'm being dragged back into this and slandered...

My car has xenon projectors, with autoleveling and headlight washers.

I know of cars with HID kits fitted into halogen housings THAT DO NOT emit excessive glare - and the kits have approval stamps by the way.

Now go read your email while you're driving, and I hope you hit a bridge instead of an innocent bystander.

Unpossible. if they're fitted to halogen housings, they are giving off glare. even if you adjust them downwards, in addition to the fact that the halogen housing scatters the light pattern.
Why else do you thing HIDs have bespoke projector housings? it certainly isn't to look pretty.

Shows what you know :)

So then, tell me, why do some HALOGENS also have projector housings? Fact is projectors do give off a better quality and spread of light, with a sharper cutoff...This is not in dispute. That does not mean a quality HID in a decent reflector housing is automatically blinding you any more than say an osram nightbreaker in a crappy housing or with a dirty lens.

Halogen Projector housings differ in shape to HID projector housings.even the cutoffs are different

ZOMG IT'S ON THE INTERWEB IT MUST BE TRUER THAN MY EXPERIENCE!

Also, one of the links is from a company selling projectors. You don't think that PERHAPS they may be a LITTLE bit biased?
