Thailand

flight prices are higher this time of year. You can probably get away with R16k.
No travel agent will be able to get it cheaper.
Use Airbnb to book accomodation or Agoda if you want all inclusive.
Between November and Feb is the best time of the year in Thailand and you have no clue what is waiting…

I understand you are a resident there. Can you kindly advise on weather and prices for April? I am going there for a mixed business/personal trip for 2 weeks.

Thank you

Going in about 30 days.
What plug is there to charge my phone with.
Hope there is wifi at places.
I see somewhere you are not allow to enter a temple in shorts. I believe we are going to visit one, but that is not the main purpose of the trip.
I hope google maps work there in English.
You can use your normal charger, it works on the outlets.

WiFi is spotty, buy a local SIM. It's cheap and unlimited data for a month.

You cannot wear shorts in temples, but the premise is your knees must be covered, and no shoes.

Google Maps works, but if you're going to be in Bangkok, familiarize yourself with the BTS and MRT train lines. It's an awesome way to get around.

It’s HOT and sweaty and just awesome.
It’s also Songkran (Buddhist new year) so try and between the 13th and 15th, but the party continues for about a week or so.
Prices may be slightly higher than average but still lower than December.
Food is still cheap AF, alchohol I believe is also higher than in SA but I’m not 100% sure how much more expensive.
Pizza, Indian food is **** expensive, but streetfood is inbetween R28 and R50 a meal. Majority of your budget will be spent on plane tickets and accommodation, living and daily life is cheap as chips.

Best "bar" in Nana Plaza is Geisha and best one in Soi Cowboy is Baccara.

You're welcome.
