i feel like i've been living under a rock - heard some of her stuff for the 1st time earlier this evening.
interesting back story tho.
a guy nearby broadcasts music from his house via fm transmission.
for him it started as a little home project fiddling around with an old apple itrip (connects to i pod and broadcasts the music to your car radio via fm).
he got some more powerful equipment and his music was reaching about 5 houses from his own - he had let his direct neighbors know about his project and gave them the frequency. soon enough a few others were listening, including a friend of mine.
i was a my friend's house some time back and music was playing, a really interesting and nice mix, so asked him what it was - "radio", he said, and gave me the frequency. i got the signal but it was weak and breaking.
by chance i bumped into the guy when with another friend of mine walking her dog - told him i had really enjoyed what i heard, but the signal was too weak.
about a month later i get a message: "tune in".
he had got hold of more powerful equipment, now pushing out a strong broadcast quality signal to about a 500m radius from his house.
i'm tuned in 24hrs now.
recently gave him a flash drive with music copied from one of my laptops - about 3000 tracks / albums, with a play time of two weeks:

so this evening music is playing - something comes on i've never heard before - and it's really good, really really good.
grab my phone - shazam - thandi draai:
here we go, feast on this:
