Thank you Vodacom - enough now!!!

I received two MMSs, from Vodacom Direct (my service provider). But I had already sent an "unscubscribe" message after the Christmas one. Why was I then not unsubscribed?

Was it an upgrade MMS? Both of them? Did you keep it?

There is only one unsubscribe database, so all Vodacom comms should be managed in this one place.

Won't you PM me all your contact details, the number in question, etc? I'd like to trace what happened. We've been working hard to get the whole bulk SMS/MMS management right, so I'd like to make sure it's working properly.

How close to the unsubscribe did the Vodacom Direct MMS come in?

See PM.

The MMS was of the "introduce a friend" variety. Kept the second one, which arrived at 11h50 today. Probably about 2 weeks since unsubscribed.

Well it seems once certain people have yoiur cell numbver the seem to seel it to overseas spamming companies.. I now get MMS's at odd hours of the night , about stocks , viagra, and cheap software and saving money.

I have been getting these for over 3 months now and no-one ( includign vodacom) seems to know anything about this..

So next spam trick is on your cell phone and via mms, seems they including that as well as ur mailbox.

The messages you describe are all well known e-mail spams, but I've not heard of them as MMS's yet.

You don't have a e-mail forwarding service on somewhere on one of your mail accounts?, that's forwarding e-mails to you via MMS?

Reason why I strongly suspect this is the costing aspect. These spammers will not easily pay the mobiles rates to spam you. Also, I 'm sure we would have had many more complaints, from other users.

Have a look in the text body to see if you can pick an e-mail addr. up.

I have mentioned this to you before. Yes they are all email addresses. And no I dont have any forwarding services on any of my mails. They all seem to come from the States.

I'm stil not sure this is not e-mail spam being forwarded.

- From which number do they originate?
- How many and what type of objects are in the MMS?

Maybe PM me your number and I'll call you and go through the message details with you.
