Unfortunately there's a bit of a catch 22 with this if your can is under warranty/motorplan etc as if they find out someone actually qualified looked at it then they cancel your "replace random parts until it works or you give up" plan.

My brothers A4 window winder broke. Audi replace it for a lot of money. When receiving the car the one door switch broke, but it was ok before the service. He phone the Audi, they kney about the problem, but said they got know spares, they will order one and then he must bring it back, he need to pay for it, and drive 500 km to them.

They charge him R745 per hour.
 
If people would stop driving them ad nauseam I would not complain. If they stopped designing them ad nauseam I would not complain. But no, they keep making them ever more boring than before and sheeple keep buying them ever more than before. So you get more of me to remind you of that. Don't feed the trolls? Let me share my experience with audi cape town.

My mother has a 2001 a4 1.8, in about 2003 it started having engine problems, the engine would just die for no reason, the car went to audi atleast 6 times and each time they just chose to replace something, they even replaced the computer at a cost of r24k. Their excuse was that she wasnt driving the car enough and I suspect they just reset everything each time as well instead of looking for a problem.

We eventually took the car to a vw/audi specialist who found the problem in less that 5 minuates, not only was it a known problem but there was also a recall on the parts. After the car was fixed the mechanics told us that audi only replaced 2 of the 4 ignition coils, which was causing the problem, and audi were probably to lazy to replace all of them because 2 of them are hard to get at. They also had to replace the clutch at a cost of r8k because of the way the guys at audi drove the car. They also found the cam belt had not been replaced by audi even though we had a receipt for one.

They are complete morons dont ever take your car to audi, especially audi cape town, even if its under motor plan, it will cost you in the end.

edit: I forgot to mention that the manager at audi cape town told us not to come back and that they would do no more work on the car

It's an attitude thing. VAG sells in huge volumes so they could not care less. In general the underdogs tend to bend over backwards to keep you happy.
 
I see already in 2012 Audi Westrand were bad ; not much has changed in a few years as they're probably still the worst.

On recommendation I went to Audi Rivonia and night/day difference. The DP even said I must contact her personally when I want to buy my next Audi. As opposed to Westrand DP that just couldn't care and made that very clear...

As for Audi SA... Don't have much faith in them either
 
Not an Audi comment but related to brake issues:
First service I went to, I had this little card left in the car, said my brake pads are at 70%.
Year later for the next service, same card said brakes are at 80%.
Unless I missread and the % scale is reversed somewhere, I've got the benjamin button of brake pads. Can't wait for the next service.
 
How do you not know you have worn brakes or the feel/sound it make when you're down to the metal? Did you start driving yesterday?
