Thanks, Dr. Google

Brain tumours for everyone!
I will only Google a condition if it has already been diagnosed otherwise just the anxiety alone could lead one to believe they have a Brain Tumour.

I've found some doctors don't really give you enough information when they diagnose you - so then I am pretty grateful for Google.

Self diagnosis usually leads to cancer for me - haven't feared a brain tumour yet. :P

I diagnosed my husband's rib cartilage damage before the third doctor he went to did. Google gets points for that.

The cause of damage was you, right? Women and man's ribs have been like that ever since Eve.

Google gave me TB the other day.

The doctor I went to the next day said it was just the flu. I think he's still practicing...

Do you mean your doctor actually does more than the " take an aspirin and call me in the morning stage"?

I sometimes wonder whether we are not best equipped to understand what is ailing us anyway?

You don't get a rectal temperature check every time you go?

And occasional requests to return at night for a second measure to establish a baseline across various times of day and night?

Another danger of self diagnosis is that you may think that there is more wrong with you than there actually is. For example, if you had insomnia, inattention and depression, you may believe that you have a sleep disorder, ADD and major depression. However, major depression can account for all of these symptoms. Thus, you may make things worse by worrying more as well.

Ja well, when our local doctor found himself a woman partner, visits to the surgery did become a bit interesting ..... especially when it was time for the annual PSA check up ..
