A Bic lighter and a litre of petrol should bring that price down somewhat?R1200/m2 to remove Thatch and fit Chromodek.
Coincidentally I did just such a quote for a client last week.
makes it a little tricky with existing fire place but something else to maybe consider. If you're wanting to do away with the thatch you could consider a louvre awning.
I may have missed it, but is the size of the afdak?Chromadek R39k

Ironically insurance does not change PPS is killer with great cover. Called this morning to see if it wouldI was thinking the same some years ago.
Instead I went the full A frame metal carport style with "Chromeadeck" which is the same size.
Never looked back because of the following:-
1) Less insurance costs
2) Less maintenance
3) Actually looks nicer
4) No worries when morons set off fireworks
5) Less mess on the contents - meaning dust and decay falling from the thatch
6) Less insects
possible to share pics? Need other inspirationI was thinking the same some years ago.

Louvre is the better long term option. And you can open it up and use it in winter...Chromadek R39k
