These idiots have been blocking my mail, getting countless complaints from people trying to contact me via email and me not replying. I am not getting the damn mail. Odd how all the important stuff gets blocked but the spam just keeps rolling in.

I have ordered the phoneline and will cancel i wurst tomorrow night.
Anyone want a desktop modem.

Another "happy" iburst customer......

gillon, whats the betting when you try to cancel they tell you that you owe them money for missed payments?

Please keep us posted as to how your cancellation went.

they must try

The wife works for an attorney. They must try there s@#t. I will put a stop at the bank as well, I don't know if you know but you can reverse a debit order if you catch it quick enough. Anyone know how long a phoneline will take? Also what would you sell a grey modem for?

You have 40 days to reverse a debit order so you don't have to be that quick.

Not sure how long a new phone line takes to install, but I ordered my DO self install package and within 48hrs had it setup at home.

As for the iburst modem, I decided not to sell it to some poor sucker and it is been moved today from my computer room to a room outside where all my other obsolete PC stuff resides.:D

Well, I cancelled iBurst last month and after reading all the horror stories, I even went to my bank before the 25th (which is when the debit order usually comes off, even though I did originally ask for it to be on the 1st) and the bank said that there was no debit order or stop payment for that company or that amount on my account, so I had nothing to worry about. Presumably iBurst had already cancelled it. Wow, could this be? Actual efficiency...?

So, just as I was starting to feel bad about all those horrible things I had thought and said about them, they decided not to let me down. Somehow they reinstated the debit order and took another month's sub from my account, and then cancelled the debit order again.

The lady at the bank was more confused as to how this happened than I was. But they did give me a "Disputed Debit Order" form, and assured me the money should be back in my account within a week.

When I informed iBurst of this situation they just said - 'Ok, your subscription will be cancelled at the end of August now.' - Sorry for you BUD! I am not paying for a crappy service that I can barely use and that I cancelled on time, especially since I have now gone ahead and gotten myself a 4Meg ADSL line.

We wait and see....

Sneaky buggers, thats why I said (in some other thread) you need to keep an eye on your account since this has happened to quite a few ex-bursters, they wait till you feel safe then stab you in the back with a debit order payment.

This is not the sort of company I want to have dealings with even though the actual iburst system is fine the company is too underhanded to allow access to your bank account.

I suggest from now on you keep an eye on your bank account as they could even try again 6 months down the line.

Does this sort of thing amount to fraud or theft as they're accessing your account without your permission?

Why don't you people get together evidence of this and open a case against Ibust...? That is Fraud!!

I'm not sure how many of the customers are actually at fault themselves, I can only go by the posts I've read here and my own experience with that company and going by that it certainly looks like iburst needs to get slapped hard.

I will be keeping a very close eye on my bank statements (as I've always done) and as soon as I see a debit from them I'll have to reversed and post in this forum as to the outcome.
I suggest that everyone else that has left or leaving iburst do the same.

Said it before and I'm saying it again "I do not intend giving that company one more cent".

The lesson to be learn't from this is NEVER have DEBIT orders with ANY company even if it means not been able to get the service if you do not agree with their conditions.

I'm not sure but maybe someone else here who knows about the legality of what iburst are doing could post the answer here.

All I know is that I never even saw a contract never mind sign one, in fact the modem was handed to me at my front gate without so much as me signing for it.

Assuming you signed a contract then iburst would have "permission" to access your bank account for that contract period, once you have fulfilled the agreement they no longer have any right to access your account.

You have to remember we are dealing with an underhanded company here so anything is possible.

Did you sign a month to month or a 24 month contract

So far no debit order from them this month. 2nd month after cancelling.

Ordering my phone line this weekend. Depending on telkoms speed, I should be off iBurst come month end! :D
