Hey all just wanna ask about how you planning the move to adsl..
U obviously dont want to have both iburst and the adsl goin at the same time and get a double bill at the end of the month so do u just cancel the iburst and hope the adsl line gets installed on the 1st of the month?

I had both for July because at the time I was warned there would be a shortage of telkom ADSL modems at the end of the month.

Anyway from the time I ordered the DO level3 package until I had the modem and installed was within 48hrs on my existing phone line, not sure how long it would take if you need to get a line installed though.

Where can u get a simple (cheap) ethernet modem from? ive got my router already...

Yeah the modem/router is free if you do the self install, and it supports 4 Ethernet ports, USB and wireless, in general pretty neat setup.

Um, About that 30 day cancellation period... so if i canceled today, would that mean i'd still have to go till the end of september or could i get it to end this month?

If you cancel today they will still charge you for September, the sooner the better since they might turn around and say you owe them money for missed payments which if it drags out till the end of the month you'll end up paying them for October as well.

Doing it now gives you some time to sort out any problems that might crop up before the end of this month.
You also need them to send you a cancellation form (by email), then you fax the completed form back to them.
They will want a copy of your ID sent with the cancellation forum.

if yuo cancel today you will still have to pay for september as MrH says. make sure then you make it clear that you will fully expect the usage of iBurst for the whole of September. They require a calendar month's notice.
