Im really enjoying this series more and more. Im not sure if anyone watched the last episode of the season.

The storyline is starting to remind me more and more about a set of books I read when I was a kid called the Amtrak Wars. Anyone remember the books and watched this series?

The grounders and reapers come across strongly as the mutes from the Amtrak Wars.

Was tempted to give it a go then saw it was on The CW.

There are several main characters in the story. Its not an 'ZOMG I Have to watch!' series, but it is pretty awesome. I think if you like Amtrak Wars you might like this story line. The acting and story does get better as the season progresses.

You had me at Amtrak Wars.
I've always wished they'd make that a tv series. But the powers that be would never allow it. Too close to home.

A seemingly benevolent government keeping a rigid control over its citizens using fear, uncertainty and doubt - with its soldiers fighting a manufactured war against a low-tech enemy, while also covertly battling a Asian state for dominance. And all of this in the blasted remains of the USA.

Okay, but wait till the last episode before you judge my comment on Amtrak wars. You will see what I mean. Its not clear until that episode and I dont wanna create a spoiler by telling you too much.

Spoil me one one little bit. Will a mutant Bigfoot make an appearance? :D

This Amtrak Wars sounds interesting. Will have to put it onto my wishlist.

I watched the pilot and I can't say I was disappointed as I had rather low expectations for that very reason. It seems that the CW has generic stories, with generic CGI, in everything they bring out.

It really put me off.

Then again, I do have weird tastes :P

Just found some info on possible future production on The Amtrak Wars

Film adaptation

In 2007 the books were optioned by an Australian production company with the intention of turning them into a series of feature films. In 2008-09 Patrick Tilley wrote a draft of the first script, entitled like the book, Cloud Warrior, and the production company continued pursuing the project in 2010, showing the script and tentative production artwork to several companies at the Cannes Film Festival. The proposed movie series is entitled The Talisman Prophecy rather than The Amtrak Wars and continues the practice from the revised edition of naming the Amtrak Federation as 'The Lone Star Confederation'. Other changes include proposed variations to the design of Federation vehicles and technology from the books, and the removal of Ne-Issan to the Pacific North-West rather than the Eastern Seaboard.

Was disappointed. The teenage screeching put me off. Perfectly coiffed and made-up in the jungle. Overjoyed when one more dies, which is a surefire sign that I don't like it.

You shouldnt be watching TV. You need to be in the queue at E-tool offices to pay your bills. Now scoot.
