I've only been following parts of this thread so please point me in the right direction if this has been discussed before.
I was shown an 86 with an upgraded DVD navigation system (I think the sales person called it an "Option One" or something like that). It was fitted with a rear-view camera, an iPod dock connection in the glove box and a small microphone above the mirror.
Does anyone here have any more information about this system? The correct name would be a great start LOL. On my Offer to Purchase it just states “Navigation System – R15,000.
I’m trying to find out what mapping system it’s using (Garmap or something else) and will I be able to record where I’ve been and will I be able to download the tracks to my PC (for billing and SARS use).
There seems to be a ton of other Double-DIN DVD systems out there ranging from R3,000 to R18,000. R15,000 sounds like a lot for this system since it looked kind of flimsy, e.g. the one I was shown was installed on Friday and yesterday it was already broken, the face didn’t want to close properly after opening. The reverse camera and microphone also looked very flimsy. The picture from the camera was not so bad though.
Are they being sold already? Think I saw a white one on the road ... No plates just temp number looked really nice
Been hearing rumours of a diesel version?
