The AA says Gauteng's e-panic button plan could actually work

Aren't there already a number of these apps? I see them pop every now and again - eBlockwatch, Aura, etc.
Isn't the issue the execution of notification to get security to arrive. The bigger issue is the non-response from SAPS.

You can't even get emergency help if you get dropped at a hospital or police station. You can't get help if you phone any of the emergency services. How will this panic button help if it relies on those useless services?

tendas for Cadres, like all other plans the Idiots in the ANC come up with.

I have an even better solution. Instead of providing residents with a panic button, make it easier for everyone to buy a wireless hole punching machine.

This Lefusi guy must be dumber than I thought. It does not matter what you use, you can give everybody gold-plated panties but if there is no response on the other side it is about as useful as a cabinet minister. First, fix the problem where there is NO emergency response then you spend money on fancy ways to reach them.

but the cadres need to eat, so they need to keep coming up with ways to waste tax payer money.

I use the Namola App on phone and it works very good. Had to use it when neighbors house was on fire.

Another big shiny button.
Toddlers are gonna go crazy for it!
The average citizen must receive at least two as he/she will likely lose one and break the other anyway..

So when someone snatches your phone or walks out without paying at PEP, are you going to push the panic button? They'll get millions of alarms per day. Wont be able to respond to most, so the serious crimes will be missed.
