I would get it if I could, the app functionality is better than Airties and I'm guessing they will get better firmware supportHmm ... checked review and it seems better but not definitively better?

Here are the details from the firmware update - definitely improved the performance, both speeds and mesh strength
It's linked in the docIs it possible to get ttheese firmware files?

2999 is about par for this product... Its a decent wifii mesh system but you'll need a proper router to do that side of the network.
At that price point the Deco M4s come into play, if you save 30% more the Huawei Q series is perfect
clearly I’m a dummy on this topic, so need to ask...
can I use one SSID if I use 9 x Q2 Pro , where 4 are connected via the Ethernet cable (from main router) , since I already have those 4 cables running into 4 different rooms (via underground conduit) ?
This is the best I could find for DPP:managed to upgrade using the instructions and files in that document - new firmware comes with additional functionality
- Parental Controls are now available on the mobile app
- Webapp now also includes AirTouch (enables the centralised management below) and AirDpp - not sure what this does
- Centralised management of the mesh is now enabled on the 'main' node - you don't have to change settings on each node individually
Therefore, the WPS, which has been widespread for years, is to be supplemented by the Device Provisioning Protocol (DPP). Similar to the codes that are attached to devices for Apple's Homekit, DPP uses alternative identification features such as QR codes. It is conceivable that a QR code on the packaging or on the housing is photographed with a smartphone. Then an app running there instructs the WLAN router to establish a connection with the gadget.
I managed to get the firmware on my devices upgraded successfully. Here are the details from the firmware update - definitely improved the performance, both speeds and mesh strength
My house is quite big, concrete slabbed and double walled.Yes you can - but why would you need so many Q2s? Each one has pretty decent coverage - unless of course you live in a massive mansion. Im not sure if there is a limit to the number of Q2s you can have linked to one another - some systems impose a hard limit

Need strong wifi corner to corner.
Each node is identical and any of them be your primary router. They each have 2 x Gbit LAN and a WAN port - and one can add up to 15 secondary units for a total of 16 mesh nodes on a single system. Although I can't see many people installing this amount, that's impressive considering many kits top out at 6 or so.
Thanks for this.Ok - makes sense... was more curious.
The only possible limiting factor is the number of nodes you can have on one network - im not sure how many the Q2s may limit to - i couldn't find anything online around this. Perhaps pop @Dolby a note - he has tested them and might be able to give you more insight into the intricacies of the units.
Edit - found this in his review >>
I might split my spare triple pack but only in a few months time. Use airties on my fibre network.I see takealot has a special on the 4920s. R2598 for a Triple pack. I just want one, but the price for one is just not worth it.
Please keep me in mind when you do! I want to connect the TV via Ethernet to the new node so Im not in a massive hurry.I might split my spare triple pack but only in a few months time. Use airties on my fibre network.
Still assessing to use only fibre vs now using fibre and LTE(as backup).
