The AirTies thread

Hi, anyone know if there is a limit to how many units can be added to the mesh network? I initially bought 3 plus 1, then was given 1 soon after, then recently bought a triple pack cheaply on Gumtree (big house with lots of concrete) - but wifi performance has degraded instead of improving. Is it too many units, or should I reset all units to factory settings and repair everything? I did pair each new unit to the 1 unit that is connected to the fibre router.
Any advice would be much appreciated!

But you need to split up the triple pack to use as singles. Otherwise the triple packs competing with each other.

Call Nology, ask for Robin.

Thanks for the help, appreciated. Nology will help sort it out - interesting info - max of 6 units applies, with the latest firmware upgrade

I'll consider buying your extra one, if price reasonable i.e. aligned to gumtree

anything more valuable at this price point?
2999 is about par for this product... Its a decent wifii mesh system but you'll need a proper router to do that side of the network.

At that price point the Deco M4s come into play, if you save 30% more the Huawei Q series is perfect

I'd actually have 2 singles available - would be happy to sell at a reasonable price - not looking to make money. DM me if you're interested

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely look into this.

only thing gained by your reply is your post count.

so at that price point, what would you recommend?
For the quality its over priced. I bought a triple pack for cheaper and could have bought another.

At least they dropped from initial nut case prices pre covid.

Because I have 2 triple packs. Vox one in use, other as a spare, I might just as well use airties.

But def recommend other mesh products. Nology provides great customer support but product over priced. I value it as max R2 500 new, preferably R2000.

Cool, thank you. I've had these for 2yrs with no firmware update available
They upgraded mine at their place.

Must maybe ask them to upgrade my 2nd pack. Was going to split it into singles but didn't a 3rd set as a spare.

Problem is if you split a triple pack into singles, you can't change back into a triple pack. Not sure why.
