‘Wards Auto’ reveals its 10 best interiors of 2017…
Every year for the past seven years, Wards Auto has revealed its list of the 10 best interiors of the preceding 12 months. And in 2017, as many as seven brands new to the list made the cut.
The US publication says its list recognises “outstanding achievement in aesthetics, comfort, ergonomics, materials usage, fit-and-finish and user-friendly electronics”.
Interestingly, there is no price cap, and each year’s set of nominees comprises interiors that are either all-new or ones that “have been significantly improved from the prior year”. Of course, there are a handful of vehicles included here that are not available in (nor destined for) our market, but the list nevertheless makes for interesting reading…

I thought that C63S would have creamed the Giulia. That is interesting ...

The Giulia has a much better power/weight ratio. 375kW as the C63S and weighs as much as the M3.
What is interesting is the Giulia does not need fancy launch control system to accelerate quicker than the BMW and Merc.

Even in base spec its an extremely accomplished car.

VERDICT
The Giulia range may be minuscule compared to what’s on offer in German camps, but if we drill down into only 2-litre turbopetrol options, the Giulia makes a strong case for itself. It’s pretty to look at, built well, and above all is very nice to drive. It is relatively expensive though, especially in Super and Stile pack trim. Our Super’s R625 000 price tag is higher than all similarly specced rival sedans.
The R555 000 base model is certainly easier on the wallet and comes fairly well stocked. Its dinky 16” alloys might not look the part, but 17s are optional for R4000.

Yeah car prices in SA are just stupid at the moment. I honestly think there is some form of collusion going on between the manufacturers. I mean almost R500k for a GT86?
