According to the plea bargain document, Tongo mentioned very detailed SMSes, though. He said he SMSed Dewani to ask if he brought the $$$ and Dewani SMSed back to say it is behind the seat in a pouch. How damning is that if it is true and can be proven !!

That's actually just an amazing irony. 3 gun related incidents took place over the course of a week and the Australians are calling it uncommonly violent. If we had 3 gun related incidents in Cape Town in a month we'd think it was peaceful.

This POM came here with one thing in mind. Drop R15000 to get his wife killed. I think its disgusting that did it.

Keep in mind. He has been arrested and charged. Nothing has been proven yet. Once they prove his guilt - I'll agree with you.

I believe that they already have access to the exchanged sms and voice calls. They've even requested the British Authorities to look into Dewani's phone records. So they are going to Dewani, there is no escape for him.

The only escape he has now is to commit suicide and blame it on accusations.

yeah well that's the publicist's job. max clifford is a slimeball who promotes reality tv "celebrities" and other has-beens to keep them in the press - the truth is not something he relies upon in his job....

In whatever way this plays out it looks bad for SA. What couple will come to this country in future when it is possible to pick up a murder organiser by selecting a random cab at the airport within half an hour of arriving, for what is essentially pocket money?

Of course it is the publicist's job. He is paid to spin things in the best possible light - whether it be a celeb who cheated on his wife, a VIP who was arrrested with drugs, or whatever other case comes his way.

Cape Town - South African police on Wednesday morning confirmed issuing an arrest warrant for Shrien Dewani which was forwarded to their UK counterparts, leading to the businessman’s arrest late on Tuesday night.

"I can confirm that a warrant for the arrest of the husband of the slain tourist, Anni Dewani, was obtained by the South African Police Service after testimony implicating Shrien Dewani in her murder was given in court," Brigadier Sally de Beer said.

"The warrant of arrest was forwarded to our counterparts in the UK (the Foreign Assistance Division) who acknowledged receipt and advised that they would act on it. The normal processes will now be followed, in conjunction with relevant role players, in order to ensure that justice takes its course in this matter," said De Beer.

Scotland Yard on Wednesday morning confirmed Shrien Dewani's arrest for the murder of his wife, Anni, on their honeymoon in South Africa.

Surrendered himself

"Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service's Extradition Unit have yesterday, Tuesday 7 December, arrested Shrien Prakash Dewani, 30, (29.12.79) on behalf of the South African authorities," Scotland Yard said in a statement released to the UK-based Press Association.

"He surrendered himself at a Bristol police station and was arrested... under a Provisional Arrest Warrant issued earlier on the same evening, at the request of the South African authorities, on suspicion of conspiring to murder Anni Dewani."

He faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder.

"He is due to appear in custody at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court later today, Wednesday 8 December," said Scotland Yard.

Meanwhile, British newspaper The Sun reported an extradition application was being prepared ahead of the proceedings.

Scotland Yard had also been asked by South African authorities to run checks on mobile phone calls made by Shrien from the UK, it reported.

Anni's family on Tuesday night called for Dewani to return to South Africa.

"We weren't told what would come out in court and it came as a shock," Anni's father Vinod Hindocha told the publication.

It just shows how low morals are here, that you can ask a random person to kill someone, and you can do it without needing a ridiculous amount of money.

Let's then summarise by saying that, just like not all Brits come here to source killers, so not all South Africans are hiring out their services to kill.
