The apple Iphone is stunning

I'm just bummed they won't enable third party developers to build software for the phone, it's sad to own a gadget so powerful and have huge amounts of potential ruined.

I'm sure there will be hacks and mods that will enable third party software, but still.

Lovely interface though, very minimal and straight forward, I predict it's going to sell very well.

It's even appealing to the average guy, not just the gadget-guy, or gal.
 
Pity they are not available in the US yet. Might pop into JFK sometime next week :D
 
really stunning phone - and that's where it ends. the rest is yesturday's technology. All that Iphone has got going for it is the fancy touch screen!. The software yea.. maybe, but the camera sux, no 3g, however it has edge :( - and i think they said it has no wifi or any sort of wireless built in!. Plus its locked to Apple's software only.

All it will take is one manufacturer to come along, create a skinnable phone with touch screen and your choice of software & music - and Iphone is a dinasour! - it will happen!.
 
@LabAnimal - it's been known since day 1 that it has wifi and I'm willing to bet it has 3G by the time it hits SA's shores.:)

Apple also went to great lengths to point out they had 200 patents invested in the iphone and they're going to protect them all.
 
It has wifi (Not only that, but it seemlessly switches to wifi whenever it finds it) and Jobs said they are adding 3G
 
Its very delicate. It won't work for a more rugged environment and handling. Doesn't it scratch easily?
